Performing Arts Teacher – 2 hours per week (Tuesday's 1 - 3pm)

This is a Fixed term contract due to start in September 2024 until July 2025

Salary: Sixth Form College Pay Spine Point 1-9 dependent on experience

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Performing Arts able to teach vocal sessions to Performing Arts Students. 

The successful candidate would need to be suitably qualified or experienced to teach BTEC Level 2, Level 3 Dance and/or Musical Theatre courses. A specialism being multi-skilled would be an advantage. An ability to contribute to the extensive enrichment activity that is offered in the department and supported would be welcomed. A PGCE or other teaching qualification is essential.

Richard Taunton College has a broad performing arts programme with a longstanding tradition of excellent results and enrichment opportunities.

As a college, we deliver outstanding teaching and learning to achieve the best outcomes possible for our learners. We focus on instilling excellent subject knowledge underpinned by independent rehearsal, regular group and independent performances that provide relevant work-related experience. Personalised target setting whilst working to clear communicated assessment objectives is integral.

There is a range of well-equipped spaces including a dance studio, performance studio rehearsal, recording and group performance spaces that provide an open access resource by all performing arts students in the department and cross college.

All successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure.
