Location: Newhall Junior School

Hours: Part-time - 11.25  hours per week/ 38 weeks per - ( Working Pattern Monday to Friday 15:20 - 17:35 )

Salary: Grade 4 Point 6 ( Actual £6,153 )

About the Role

Newhall Junior School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive After School Club Assistant to support the development and daily running of our vibrant After-School Club for children aged 7–11. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s day by creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where they can relax, play, and learn after school.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day running of the After-School Club, ensuring a high standard of care and safety.

Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children’s emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development.

Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and needs.

Support inspections (e.g., OFSTED) and implement any recommendations.

Work closely with the school’s leadership and admin team for purchasing and resource management.

Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safeguarding standards.

Identify and report any safeguarding concerns, liaising with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Build strong relationships with children, parents/carers, and school staff to promote well-being and communication.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children in a playwork, childcare, or educational setting.

A warm, approachable, and responsible individual with a genuine passion for child development.

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

Creativity and initiative in planning fun and meaningful activities.
