Lionheart Educational Trust is seeking to appoint an excellent Science specialist for South Derbyshire.

Our trust position will begin with teaching at our wonderful South Derbyshire secondary school, Mercia Academy, where the successful candidate will champion evidence led Science pedagogy, implementing our robust curriculum effectively ensuring improved outcomes for pupils across KS3 and KS4. This role will provide opportunity to gain experience working with our Lionheart trust network of science leaders and teachers, support and develop school-wide teaching and learning, modelling excellence in science and sharing approaches to support the continuous professional development of our teaching community. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career in teaching and learning and curriculum development in the future.

• A highly skilled classroom practitioner with a deep understanding of KS3 and KS4 curriculum.

• Evidence of sustained impact on pupil outcomes in GCSE Science qualifications.

• A commitment to inclusive education and high aspirations for all learners.

• An adaptive practitioner with a strong working knowledge of

• A collaborative mindset with experience of leading and inspiring colleagues to develop their practice.

• A colleague who is ready to share their practice and who can facilitate effective professional learning to others across the academy.

• Experience of leading, mentoring and developing ECTs

• Support the creation and quality assurance of shared resources and schemes of work.

• Drive improvements in teaching and learning through coaching, mentoring, and CPD delivery.

• Analyse data to inform strategic interventions and raise attainment.

• Support the HoD on strategic planning to ensure that Science standards are excellent.
