MATHS ACADEMIC MENTOR

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

SALARY: Grade 8 Points 15 - 18 

Full Time Equivalent: £28,605.00 to 31,029.00 per annum

Actual Salary: £23,840.00 to £25,861.00 per annum

JOB OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support the teaching and learning of Maths at Sir Jonathan North Girls' College in Leicester. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Working with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to identify the support each pupil needs.
  • Identifying learning gaps and helping to create bespoke intervention programmes for pupils.
  • Developing and delivering engaging sessions to support a range of learners with clear learning objectives.
  • Delivering measurable outcomes form each session to track progress.
  • To provide a high quality tuition and academic support and tailored one to one or small groups.
  • Work alongside the pupils' teacher to plan and deliver these interventions to support learning across the curriculum.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/5 or above.
  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
  • High level communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • A commitment to the well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
