Emotional Literacy Support Assistant

Echelford Primary School is looking to recruit an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. We are offering a wonderful opportunity to become an integral part of our exceptional school community of children and adults.

Echelford Primary School is a large, friendly, three form entry primary school in Ashford, Middlesex with a diverse catchment and a wonderful team spirit. We have a strong reputation for working collaboratively with other local schools and are constantly on the look-out for opportunities to enhance our provision. The right candidate will be joining a strong, professional team of enthusiastic staff who will work alongside you in a supportive and constructive way.

We are looking to appoint an ELSA who has a passion for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils. The main duties and responsibilities of the job are included in the job description attached to this advertisement along with a person specification giving details of the skills, qualifications and experience required for this role.

Training will be provided but any experience working with children who are experiencing personal challenges would be beneficial, the school is looking to recruit the right candidate to offer pastoral support across the school.

Working Hours – 32.5 hours per week, term time only, to be worked 8:30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday

We are looking particularly for someone to work alongside the Home School Link Worker (HSLW) as part of the school's pastoral team in addressing the emotional needs of pupils who require support to overcome the barriers to learning they experience both inside and outside the school, in order that they are able to achieve their full potential.
