Welcome to

Ratby Primary School

Ratby Primary School is an academy primary school catering for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. Our school is part of several partnerships which support our school improvement and we are proud to be part of Bradgate Education Partnership; a local Multi-Academy Trust.

We are a happy, friendly, village primary school located in the heart of the village of Ratby, Leicestershire, where all pupils are valued and where we promote a love of learning. Ratby is located near to the village of Groby and on leaving our school at aged eleven, the vast majority of children attend the Brookvale Groby Learning Campus to complete their education.  There are regular meetings between the Headteacher and teachers of all the Primary Schools who work closely together within our group, known as ‘Enrich’.

Ratby was most recently inspected by Ofsted in June 2018. The inspection was very successful. We were delighted that the inspectors could see our many strengths and we were graded “Good” in all aspects. A copy of the summary of the inspection report can be found on the Ofsted section of the school website.

About Us

Starting school is an exciting time for children and here at Ratby, we endeavour to make it as straightforward as possible. We are extremely fortunate to have committed staff who share the common aim of wanting to give your child the best possible start in life. Not only do we strive to achieve the highest level in literacy, numeracy and all round education, but we also ensure your children are safe, happy and contribute to our excellent standards of behaviour. Most children join our school in the year in which they are five, but some join us later on in their school career and quickly settle into their new school life, making friends and learning routines with help from their new teacher and class mates.

We work to ensure that all children can experience success by creating a climate of self-belief where children have confidence in themselves and their ability to succeed. Pupils need to acquire the basic skills and attitudes that will equip them to meet new challenges with confidence. We encourage children to do their best in everything they do and the staff expect high standards of work and behaviour from all.  At Ratby Primary School we strive to inspire a love of learning.

We believe in putting the children at the very heart of everything we do. We aim for our curriculum opportunities to be creative, broad and varied so that all children can achieve their best and are motivated to continue their learning beyond their years at Ratby. We strive to build strong and purposeful relationships with families. We operate an “open door”policy and we welcome feedback and comments. We also value the support that families give us so that we can work in partnership for the benefit of the children.

Bradgate Education Partnership

We are part of the Bradgate Education Partnership

It was formed in collaboration with 11 local schools in Leicestershire who applied for MAT status to the Secretary of State for Education as a Multi Academy Trust in September 2016.The Trust currently has 15 schools in total, including two secondary schools.

They are committed to developing the local educational landscape within our primary and secondary schools through our unique autonomous model. They firmly believe that through collaboration and supportive challenge we can continue to support and develop further our academy Head Teachers and our Local Governing Bodies (LGB) to manage their own academies through our unique model.

They are also registered as an academy sponsor for other schools or academies who may approach them and they aim to help them to improve their standards and performance through our supportive model of leadership and school improvement. They fully expect all schools and academies to give their expertise as well as take support from the Trust, as and when required.

OUR MISSION

To make a positive difference to the lives of our pupils, ensuring they leave school with high outcomes.

OUR PURPOSE

By harnessing the efficiencies and rewards of a connected and effective Multi-Academy Trust but retaining the character and autonomy of individual schools we will support and create high performing collaborative academies who enable their pupils to succeed academically, emotionally and socially.
