Welcome

A warm welcome to Rowde C of E Academy...

At Rowde C of E Primary Academy, we have a very special community with one clear ethos and vision: to nurture everyone in our school to, 'Learn, Grow and Love'. We believe that every member of our community can be supported and inspired to flourish. I could not be more proud to be Head Teacher here, after being KS2 class teacher and Deputy Head Teacher. After some challenges in recent years, we continue to make marked improvements in teaching and learning. With an incredible team and community, Rowde is already a thriving school and, with support from Acorn Education Trust and our colleagues from the Diocese, we will continue to improve to ensure we are the school our special pupils deserve.

By attending Rowde, you become part of a family underpinned by love and kindness. Our core Christian values (respect, optimism, wisdom, determination, enthusiasm and love) represent who we are and we use our collective worship to connect and ensure we live these values daily. We are a happy and positive learning environment, with the highest expectations of behaviour and attainment. Our aim is that Rowde is just the beginning of an exciting, lifelong journey for our pupils, but where the crucial foundations are laid for their future success. We are committed to ensuring that every child can fulfil their true potential as a learner and as a member of the community; where the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of each individual is of paramount importance.

This is just the beginning and I urge you not to take my word for it! Please get in touch: I am always happy to discuss your child's education with you and it would be a pleasure to show you our amazing site and meet our brilliant team. We are incredibly proud of our school and I would relish the opportunity to show you why.

Mrs Alice Simpson | Head Teacher

At Rowde, our vision is to develop happy young people with enquiring minds, a spirit of curiosity, love and respect for themselves, others and the environment so that they will have the skills, resilience and adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Our Rowde school's Christian ethos, 'Learn-Grow-Love', is underpinned by Jesus’ mustard seed parable: from the smallest seeds grow the greatest shrubs (Mt13v31-32). Valuing our community, together, we embody our vision: “With God’s guidance; sowing the seeds of success; nurturing and inspiring pupils and adults to flourish."

Just like the mustard tree flourishes and grows to hold a valuable position in the garden, we want to see every pupil flourish in their learning, their relationships with others and their personal growth. We aim to give our pupils the best start, preparing them for their secondary education and their role in modern British society.

While the mustard seed is tiny, with soil, water, air and sunlight it grows, becomes strong and attracts the birds to rest among its branches. We believe that all of our pupils have the potential to do well, to succeed in their learning and to become a valued member of society, regardless of their starting point. At Rowde C of E Primary Academy, every member of our school community is valued and cherished; both as an individual and for the contribution they make to the school body.

Children at Rowde C of E Primary Academy are rooted by our Christian vision and associated values; Respect, Optimism, Wisdom, Determination, Enthusiasm and Love. Our school community (including pupils, staff, parents, the church and our parish) is centred on the growth, development and safeguarding of our children.

ABOUT ACORN EDUCATION TRUST

"PREPARING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THEIR WORLD IN THEIR TIME"

Acorn_Education_Trust_-_Eteach_Webpage_Banner.jpg

The Acorn Education Trust was formed in August 2014 to create a local solution to a national strategy. Through close collaboration and a shared vision we believe each school will achieve great things while retaining their individual identity. Underpinning this close collaboration is a strong belief in our core purpose.

School improvement is the key to school effectiveness and is at the heart of the process of raising standards. It allows us to deliver an education for all children/students that is of the highest quality. The Acorn Education Trust is driven by its core purpose of improving outcomes and life chances for students and believes that an effective School Improvement Strategy is the key to unlocking the potential in its leaders, staff and children/students. An effective Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) uses the School Improvement Strategy to help ensure accountability, drive strategic thinking and deploy resources in order to improve outcomes for its children/students. Our leadership and management of each school is based on three principles:

Every school is an improving school

Leadership at every level is critical

The unique identity of each school must be preserved
