Selwood is a an exceptional school, unlike any other. . Pupils at the school are extremely polite. In June 2022 the school judged “Good” by OFSTED and in 2019 the Academy received a section 48 SIAMS inspection in which it was judge as “Excellent.”

Selwood is a large middle school recognised for its warm, caring, vibrant community. We are ambitious for our pupils and work collaboratively with local partners to ensure that all of our stakeholders are able to “let their light shine before others. This is lived out through diverse educational opportunities, a rigorous, coherent and differentiated curriculum as well as proactive pastoral support, grounded through our work as a Thrive school. As part of our vision staff wellbeing is paramount, we have hugely supportive staff, with a wellbeing team in place. Recognition for staff is at the forefront of our practice and we have policies in place to support this, including a reasonable feedback policy, supportive behaviour policy and relentless support from all leaders to support all staff to fulfill their potential through high quality CPD and support.
