Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Peter and St Paul CE Academy, where children of all cultures and faiths access a rich and balanced primary curriculum and are supported to be the best version of themselves. We are an inclusive school who serve over 400 wonderful children and have strong links with community groups and the local church.

St. Peter and St. Paul is an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ school with a large, dedicated team of highly skilled staff and governors. We work closely with parents to provide a happy, stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, respected and confident to be themselves. This is reflected in our school motto ‘All things are possible to those who believe’ and our three core values of honesty, perseverance and respect.

We are proud to be the home of Rise Multi-Academy trust, a large family of primary schools based in the Midlands. Our facilities include three halls, four playgrounds, a dedicated computer suite, adventure playground, trim trail and peace garden, in addition to a generous-sized field and an all-weather pitch where children take part in a variety of sports. Our forest school is based within our on-site nature reserve and we are proud that food is prepared freshly on the premises by our school-employed kitchen team.

Our pupils benefit from a rich offer of trips and residentials and attend swimming lessons at the nearby Charnwood Leisure Centre. We provide a knowledge-based, vocabulary-rich curriculum alongside a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including a variety of sports clubs who perform well in county competitions. We currently hold the gold mark for school games, which reflects our commitment to physical education and the wide range of sporting opportunities on offer. To support working parents, our Clubhouse team offer wrap-around care from 7:30am until 6pm, including breakfast and a light tea.

If you would like to find out more, please give the school office a call on 0116 2607577 and ask to join a school tour – we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Kind regards,

Mrs Claire Mulhern

Our School

Our school is part of the RISE Multi Academy Trust.  We have 405 wonderful children on roll, aged 4-11 years, organised into single age classes. The school enjoys excellent facilities, including three halls, an ICT suite, a large playing field, daily mile track, nature area, all-weather pitch, adventure playgrounds and Peace Garden.  Over the next 7 years, the school will be expanding in size due to high demand for places and we have just completed a large extension to accommodate a rise in our planned admission number.

The school was last inspected in November 2017. We were pleased that the hard work of Governors, school leaders, teachers, support staff and pupils was recognised by the inspectors who found that the school has continued to make significant progress since the last inspection, resulting in us once again being graded a GOOD school.

As a church academy, we are also inspected by the Diocesan Board of Education. These inspections are known as SIAMs (Statutory Inspections of Anglican and Methodist Schools). The inspectors visit schools and report on Collective Worship, Religious Education and the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development of pupils. Our last SIAMs inspection was in September 2016 when we were delighted to be graded as OUTSTANDING, a result of our strong ethos, Christian values and excellent teamwork from the whole school community.

Rise is a family of schools. We work with and for each other.

We currently comprise of 17 Church of England primary schools and 2 community schools, but we would like to further extend our family to non-church schools.

Our schools each have their own vision and values. Many schools had these before they joined the Rise family. These all complement the work of Rise to enable pupils and staff to ‘flourish and succeed’.

We are proud that all our schools are now deemed to be ‘Good’ in the eyes of Ofsted. However, we want that milestone to be a marker on our journey, rather than the destination itself. We want Rise schools to be great schools.

Our family of schools are all different shapes and sizes, serving rich and varied communities and that is one of the many things we love about our Trust.Find out more about the Rise Multi-Academy Trust here.
