Job Purpose
To be responsible for the development and daily support of the After School Club, providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children.
Manage club bookings. Ensuring that all relevant records are maintained, and queries are escalated to the headteacher or administrator
To ensure health and safety and food hygiene requirements are met within the statutory guidelines and appropriate first aid stocks are maintained, and incidents recorded. To report any health and safety concerns to the headteacher immediately.
To work in partnership with parents and carers, to promote the wellbeing of children. To ensure end of day collection arrangements are clear and in accordance with school and safeguarding procedures.
Planning and implementation of the daily activities ensuring that children’s needs are met and the programme is suitable and varied.
Prepare food and provide healthy snacks. Maintaining cost effectiveness and high standards of hygiene at all times.
To assist with personal care if applicable.

Plan and prepare a daily food menu suitable for all children’s dietary requirements and aligned to Food Standards

Role Summary
Roles at this level typically provide a practical support as part of a team. They will carry out a range of practical activities using knowledge of professional standards values and practice, together with a broad understanding of learning strategies. The work is within established processes and procedures and while it may not be subject to direct supervision, guidance is readily available. They will be expected to organise their own workload and set their own priorities within short, e.g. day-to-day or week-to-week timescales, usually reacting to clear deadlines or processes. They support more senior staff by covering specific aspects of the teaching/learning programme and will be fully versed in all the procedures of their specialism. They may be involved in guiding/supervising the work of more junior staff.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
