Calling all experienced or aspiring SENCOs. Do you want to work in a school with a well established ethos of inclusivity? Would you like to support children in the mainstream, in a DSP and those children with special school names in a bespoke provision? We have strongly established links with the LA and are a clear inclusion team across both of the school buildings.

Permanent SENCO- TLR2B

0.6 teaching commitment in the mainstream or the SEN unit dependent upon experience

Start date: Aug 2025

At Kestrel Mead our inclusion offer is second to none and recognised within the trust, the local authority and beyond. I know the challenges and joys of being a SENCO, after holding this role on my journey to headship, and I am eager to coach and support the right candidate in the role. As a split site school, there is a SENCO at each building ensuring that you will not be working in isolation. You will also have monthly review meetings with myself to look at complex cases and determine next steps. You will be part of the TMET SEN network. We will support the right candidate on acquiring the SEN qualification if not already obtained.

Could this be the right role for you?

Meet the Principal Q&A drop in session: Thursday 3.45-4.15pm

Applications close: Monday 26th May 5pm

Interviews: Thursday 29th May (virtually)

Apologies for this late opportunity, this is in relation to late appointments of staff at Kestrel Mead. We are excited to meet all candidates who feel that they would like to work for TMET and would like to work at Kestrel Mead.

“Staff take great care to meet the needs of all pupils. This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The school makes sure that it includes all pupils in everything that it does.” OFSTED 2024

“There is a distinct and highly successful offer for the DSP pupils who attend Kestrel Mead. The pupils in the DSP are taught within a fully secure, purpose-built learning environment with access to their own outdoor provision and sensory space. The building is interlinked with the mainstream nursery outdoor learning area with allows for inclusion opportunities with mainstream peers” LA DSP report.
