Sorry, we are currently not recruiting for any vacancies
We would love you to join our Talent Pool so we can contact you when the right vacancy arises.
At West Ashton, our ethos and vision drives all we do. As a school community, we believe that we should all aspire, believe and celebrate as we aim to 'shine among them like stars in the sky'. The school community worked together to develop our school Christian values (hope, wisdom, agape, friendship, thankfulness and koinonia) and we believe they not only represent who we are but underpin all we do. We aim to be an inclusive school, where all are valued within an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.
We are extremely proud of our school and of the warm, family atmosphere that we have. We celebrate our talents and skills whilst encouraging and supporting each other in developing theirs. We want to give each pupil a thirst for learning that continues with them throughout their life and we strive to make each child's time at West Ashton, purposeful, challenging and enjoyable.
I am proud of being the Head Teacher at West Ashton.
Come and see us and you'll quickly realise why we are a wonderful school for your child/children and you.
Alex Blake-Thwaite | Headteacher
At West Ashton School, we believe that:
Every child is special
Each child is unique
Each child brings their own gifts, thoughts, interests, experiences and skills to the school
A child with high self-esteem will have the confidence to take chances and try new things. Confidence will grow in an environment where each individual is valued for who they are. We aim to provide a warm, caring and safe environment, where all children and staff are equally valued and happy.
At West Ashton School, we aim to create a climate which actively encourages children to develop social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness and thus grow into responsible, young global citizens.
We encourage high quality work by having high expectations and instilling a positive work ethic. We aim to develop the whole child so they are confident, independent learners, emotionally intelligent and creative, critical thinkers.
We aspire, believe and celebrate our entire school community.
Our Values
Our values form the bedrock of who we are and how we act both towards ourselves and others.
Our values are:
Hope
Wisdom
Agape
Friendship
Thankfulness
Koinonia

The Acorn Education Trust was formed in August 2014 to create a local solution to a national strategy. Through close collaboration and a shared vision we believe each school will achieve great things while retaining their individual identity. Underpinning this close collaboration is a strong belief in our core purpose.
School improvement is the key to school effectiveness and is at the heart of the process of raising standards. It allows us to deliver an education for all children/students that is of the highest quality. The Acorn Education Trust is driven by its core purpose of improving outcomes and life chances for students and believes that an effective School Improvement Strategy is the key to unlocking the potential in its leaders, staff and children/students. An effective Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) uses the School Improvement Strategy to help ensure accountability, drive strategic thinking and deploy resources in order to improve outcomes for its children/students. Our leadership and management of each school is based on three principles:
Every school is an improving school
Leadership at every level is critical
The unique identity of each school must be preserved
