Headteacher's Welcome

Headteacher.jpg

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Frogwell Primary School as the new Headteacher. From the moment I first visited the school and spent time with the children and staff, I was struck by the warmth, resilience, and potential within the Frogwell community. I felt strongly motivated to become part of the team, and I consider leading the school into its next steps to be a huge privilege.

The staff team, local authority, and governing body are open about the fact that the school has faced challenges in recent times. However, I truly believe that within every challenge lies an opportunity—and at Frogwell, that opportunity is real and full of promise. Since arriving, I have seen first-hand the potential that shines through our pupils, the dedication of our team, and the support from families who care deeply about the future of our school.

Our school is guided by five core values: Safe & Happy, Supportive, Respectful, Aspirational, and Inclusive. These values are not just words; they are the principles that shape our daily interactions, our teaching, and our hope for every child.

Together, we are working to build a culture of high expectations, mutual respect, and joyful learning. Our priority is to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to achieve their very best. We are focusing on the basics—great teaching, strong relationships, and a broad, engaging curriculum—while nurturing the unique talents and interests of every child.

In the coming weeks, I will be arranging to meet with each of the classes to hear directly from our children and staff. I also look forward to creating opportunities for parents and carers to meet with me and share your thoughts, so that we can consult together on the school’s next steps. Your insights and involvement are key to shaping our future.

We recognise that a school cannot thrive in isolation. That’s why we are strengthening our partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community. Your voice matters, and I am committed to listening, learning, and working together to ensure Frogwell becomes a place we can all continue to be proud of.

I warmly invite you to visit us, see our progress for yourself, and join us on this exciting journey. With belief, determination, and a shared vision, there is nothing we cannot achieve.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

With warm regards,

Miss Imogen Woods

We aim to be a respectful and inclusive school community providing a happy and caring environment for children.

We will do this by:

  • supporting each child to unlock their potential as confident learners and responsible citizens
  • providing opportunities that raise aspirations and widen horizons
  • investing in our staff and the school environment to enable our children to achieve

Our School Values

  • Safe and Happy: We want all children to feel emotionally and physically safe in our school and to enjoy coming here each day. We aim to make our school a happy place for everyone.
  • Supportive: We believe it is essential to provide children with the support they need to succeed both academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Respectful: We want all members of our school community to treat others and themselves with respect. We believe in the importance of adults modelling respectful behaviours to help children to learn respect.
  • Aspirational: We believe all children should be encouraged to have aspirations for the future regardless of their starting points. We aim to inspire children and build their confidence to aim high.
  • Inclusive: We believe our school is a better place if we can include everyone and support those with different needs to experience success in education and in life.
