Our determination to give children a well-rounded education underpins our commitment to providing a primary school experience which truly embraces the five outcomes of Every Child Matters*: to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being. We want our children to be happy, successful members of our modern British society. 

*(The Every Child Matters policy from 2003 was implemented by the government. It still applies to the well-being of children and young people and is based on the idea that every child, regardless of their individual circumstances or background, should have plenty of support throughout their life). 

In its simplest form, our aim is for our children to be safe, happy and making progress. We place children's emotional security, physical and mental health, personal/social development, behaviour and welfare at the core of everything we do and we know this work is impacting positively on our children's lives, securing their sense of safety and happiness at school, building their self-confidence and enabling them to achieve more positively in the classroom. 

We aim to provide a thoughtful and wide-ranging promotion of our pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, and of their physical well-being, which enables them to thrive. We continue to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Everyone is special at Greenhill; talents are discovered and nurtured and an enthusiasm for learning encouraged through an exciting, relevant curriculum. In our school, learning is about trying your best and having a go; making mistakes and learning from them, Children are taught that it is right and safe to question, to think for yourself and do the right thing. We teach our children to be hard-working and open-minded; we believe everyone in our school community can continue to learn and improve.

We know our children are happy at school, because we listen to what they say to us and involve them in planning to make school even better. We're all really proud that our school is a happy and safe place to grow and achieve.
