On behalf of the Governors, staff and children, welcome to our school!

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of Lawn Primary and Nursery School and it is a delight to welcome you to our warm and friendly school where there is a strong sense of community and where everyone is valued and respected. We have a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed team of staff who provide the very best education, both academically and socially, to our children. We believe that our staff make a real difference, and that every child matters. We have high expectations of our children, in everything they do; their work, their play and in the way they treat others.

We aim to provide a learning environment where all children can achieve their highest potential and to foster a climate where all children, regardless of any differences, are treated equally, feel secure and can grow in confidence and self-esteem. Our dedicated staff use their expertise and experience to equip our children with a love of learning and to enable them to develop a broad, secure knowledge base, alongside the skills needed to ready them for the next steps in their educational and life journeys. We believe that the fulfilment of this goal is evident in our pupils at Lawn Primary and Nursery School.

At Lawn Primary, education is about more than just exam results, it is about every child reaching their full potential, socially and academically. It is about ensuring that each child is cherished, supported and empowered to achieve. Our pupils are well behaved, respectful, caring and good mannered with a positive attitude towards learning. We never underestimate the important role we play in a child’s life and therefore strive to make each day the best it can possibly be. We aim for our pupils to leave Lawn Primary and Nursery School as well-rounded individuals; as our vision states – Children to be proud of.

We are fortunate enough to have an on-site nursery for children aged from two to four years old, which means that we can offer continuity of support, care and relationships for our children from age 2 through to age 11. We are also lucky enough to have extensive grounds, which we enjoy utilising as part of our everyday learning and wider curriculum.

Parents and carers play a very important part in school life and we value our partnership with them. We encourage parents to become involved in all aspects of school life, so that, as partners, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to reach their full potential.

We believe Lawn Primary is a school to be proud of; a place where children learn and enjoy doing so. If you would like to know more we encourage you to come and visit us, and see our vision and values in action – our ethos is tangible! If we can support you with additional information, please get in touch and we will do all we can to help.
