Overview

I warmly welcome you to Porth Community School which will be opening in September 2018.  I am delighted that you are considering our school for your child’s education and I hope that this website gives you some insight into school life here. 

Our mission statement ‘Aspire Together, Achieve Together’ is fulfilled by us having the highest ambitions and expectations for our pupils’ achievement, well-being and behaviour. We are committed to providing outstanding learning and teaching in a caring, safe, nurturing environment.  We want your child to enjoy their learning and the wide range of extra-curricular opportunities available whilst being challenged and supported to reach their full potential.

I know every member of staff here at Porth Community School is utterly committed to making sure each and every pupil is equipped with the knowledge, skills, confidence and motivation to have the very best life chances to thrive in our modern world. We pride ourselves on the positive, purposeful relationships between staff and pupils and the strength of the school’s pastoral care.  Our partnerships with parents and carers are also very important to us. We want to work closely with our families so that together we can support their child’s education.

We are very conscious of the history of the schools now combining to form our new learning environment and seek to build upon their heritage to provide the community of Porth with a truly exceptional school to be proud of.

About Us

Porth County Community School, Llwyncelyn Infants’, Porth Infants’ and Porth Junior School will become a 3-16 school, at the existing secondary school site.

The primary element will be a new-build, while the secondary building is being refurbished and redecorated. Existing mobile accommodation and some older buildings have already been removed. Parking and traffic arrangements on site will be significantly improved.

The new Porth Community School will comprise of 3 schools;

Lower School

Lower School

Nursery to year 4.

Middle School

Middle School

Year 5 to 8.

Upper School

Upper School

Year 9 to 11.

With the new school set to open in September 2018 this is an exciting time for for students, staff and parents and is a fantastic investment in the education of the pupils in the area.
