Co-Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Peter and St Paul CE Academy, where children of all cultures and faiths access a rich and balanced primary curriculum and are supported to be the best version of themselves. We are an inclusive school who serve over 400 wonderful children and have strong links with community groups and the local church.

St. Peter and St. Paul is an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ school with a large, dedicated team of highly skilled staff and governors. We work closely with parents to provide a happy, stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, respected and confident to be themselves. This is reflected in our school motto ‘All things are possible to those who believe’ and our three core values of honesty, perseverance and respect.

We are proud to be part of Rise Multi-Academy trust, a large family of primary schools based in the Midlands. Our facilities include three halls, four playgrounds, a dedicated computer suite, adventure playground, trim trail and peace garden, in addition to a generous-sized field and an all-weather pitch where children take part in a variety of sports. Our forest school is based within our on-site nature reserve and we are proud that food is prepared freshly on the premises by our talented kitchen team.

Our pupils benefit from a rich offer of trips and residentials and attend swimming lessons at the nearby Charnwood Leisure Centre. We provide a knowledge-based, vocabulary-rich curriculum alongside a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including a variety of sports clubs who perform well in county competitions. We hold the gold mark for school games, which reflects our commitment to physical education and the wide range of sporting opportunities on offer. To support working parents, our Clubhouse team offer wrap-around care from 7:30am until 6pm, including breakfast and a light tea.

If you would like to find out more, please give the school office a call on 0116 2607577 and ask to join a school tour – we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Kind regards,

Mrs Claire Mulhern & Mrs Sophie Moss

Talent Pool

Our School

Our school is part of the RISE Multi Academy Trust.  We have 417 wonderful children on roll, aged 4-11 years, organised into single age classes. The school enjoys excellent facilities, including three halls, an ICT suite, a large playing field, daily mile track, nature area, all-weather pitch, adventure playgrounds and Peace Garden.  The school building has recently been extended due to the high demand for places and we are currently investing in a new whole-school library for children to enjoy.

The school was last inspected in March 2023 and we were pleased that the hard work of Governors, school leaders, teachers, support staff and pupils was commended.  Pupil behaviour was described as 'exemplary', citing children's 'good manners' and teachers' 'very high expectations'.  We are particularly proud that our 'ambitious' curriculum helps 'pupils develop a thirst for learning', teachers 'support all pupils to overcome any barriers to learning' and we provide 'ample opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and interests'.

As a church academy, we are also inspected by the Diocesan Board of Education. These inspections are known as SIAMs (Statutory Inspections of Anglican and Methodist Schools). The inspectors visit schools and report on Collective Worship, Religious Education and the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development of pupils. Our last SIAMs inspection was in September 2016 when we were delighted to be graded as OUTSTANDING, a result of our strong ethos, Christian values and excellent teamwork from the whole school community.

RISE MULTI-ACADEMY TRUST

St Peter and St Paul CofE Academy IS PROUD TO BE PART OF THE RISE MULTI-ACADEMY TRUST.

Rise is a family of schools. We work with and for each other.

We currently comprise of 23 CofE and Community primary schools, Great strides have been made and we are proud of the fact that all our schools are now deemed to be’ Good’ in the eyes of Ofsted. We want, however, for that milestone to be a marker on our journey, rather than the destination itself. Our family of schools are all different shapes and sizes, serving rich and varied communities and that is one of the many things we love about our Trust.

Our vision and our values show how we place great importance on what we do and how we do it. Our values underpin our interactions with each other and strengthen our sense of family. Children are placed at the heart of everything we do. Our team of staff are skilled, hardworking and committed to developing all of your child, not just their academic ability. We recognise that success for every child will be different and we celebrate this.

We are developing and maturing as a Trust. We are ambitious. We are evolving into a Trust that is led by schools for schools. Our headteachers and talented subject leaders play an active role in Trust and school improvement. Our central team are committed to serving schools in a manner that enables them to be great schools, doing great things that enable every child in a Rise school to both ‘flourish and succeed’; and ensuring that our colleagues and communities thrive in a similar way.

Our family of schools are all different shapes and sizes, serving rich and varied communities and that is one of the many things we love about our Trust.
