Overview

Cross Gates Primary is a school where our children from ages 2-11 are at the heart of our decision making. We know our children and as individuals and we tailor our teaching and learning to their needs. We are proud of our family ethos and celebrate the fact our thriving one form entry school is at the heart of the community. We nurture our children from the moment we meet them at our flexible Nursery setting through to when they fly the nest in Year 6.

We pride ourselves on our updated broad and balanced curriculum which is exciting and challenging. Our professional and dedicated staff have high expectations of the children and we work hard to foster a love of learning from all.

There is always a buzz of excitement in the air and we hope our website and our Twitter feed @CGPrimarySchool will give you a flavour of some of the exciting things that happen at Cross Gates.

Our ethos of "Respecting Others, Learning Together, Moving Forward" underpineed by our 6R values, permeate throughout school. Don't just take our word for it, come and see for yourself!

About us

Our Vision:

Our Aims at Cross Gates Primary School are:

  • To develop in children, values and attitudes such as self respect, open mindedness, justice, fairness and respect for others.
  • To teach children appropriate behaviour including co-operation, consideration and courtesy towards others.
  • To incorporate a sound and balanced curriculum so that children may develop skills, concepts and knowledge  appropriate to their age and ability, and to make the best use of all available resources.
  • To work together with parents and the local community to enable our pupils to achieve success in all areas of school life.

Leeds East Primary Partnership

Cross Gates Primary School is a Trust School.
A shared trust is where a group of community schools take on foundation status separately but set up one shared trust, working together to share best practice. The trust doesn’t run the schools, the Headteacher and Governing Body do.

Working under the banner of a trust can clarify schools’ vision, focus, aims, expectations and standards to make collaboration more sustainable.

We are part of the Leeds East Primary Partnership along with Grange Farm Primary, White Laith Primary and Beechwood Primary. Partners in our trust include Leeds City Council, Leeds Trinity University College, The Brigshaw Co-Operative Trust and Friends of Foxwood Farm.

As a Trust we will:

  • Work together to improve the quality of teaching and learning and enrich learning experiences and raise standards of achievement in our schools.
  • Work together to strengthen the care, guidance and support for our children and families, particularly our most vulnerable.
  • Work together to achieve the best for all of our children by developing our staff and school leadership.
  • Work together to achieve better value for our schools.
