Welcome

St Clare’s is a special place.

The governors and staff strive to ensure that every child achieves their potential across all subjects by offering a vibrant environment, rich learning opportunities and expert tuition in sport and music – all with Christ at the centre of everything we do.

Our motto is, “Learning through faith” and from the moment you enter the building, the Catholicity of the school is evident. It permeates through how the children behave towards each other and their surroundings; how they show respect to their peers and the adults in school; how they react when they face challenges – both personal and academic – and in how they grow in their faith as they journey through the school.

We are part of the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust which is a network of twenty-two schools and the Leicestershire Catholic Teaching School Alliance. This association allows collaboration and access to expertise in all areas of school life, enabling St Clare’s to offer the best education possible for the children entrusted to our care.

Our Ethos

St Clare’s is a Catholic faith Community inspired by God’s love, firmly rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and nourished through prayer and worship. Everyone is respected and celebrated as a unique, special and gifted individual. All children and staff in our school are helped to develop in mind, body and spirit, nurturing talents to reach their full potential. We strive to be a happy, holy and inclusive school with staff, children, families and governors working together towards excellence. We endeavour to make a positive contribution within the Parish and wider Community.

Our Aims

To build and develop our Catholic faith Community and actively promote the partnership of home, school, parish and the wider world. (SMSC) Leading by example, we encourage all members of our community to value, respect and co-operate with each other and others, learning to show love, kindness, tolerance and patience. To develop team- work between children, families, staff and governors, so that we can improve and develop. To learn about the world we live in, promote democracy and celebrate the rich diversity of our community and wider world. To provide a safe; welcoming; stimulating and healthy environment. To facilitate achievement by developing life- long learning skills through an enjoyable, balanced, differentiated and creative curriculum, which nurtures a positive self-image and regard for others.

Living and Working in Leicestershire

In the Heart of England - Residents of Leicestershire enjoy the best of everything
From refreshing and beautiful countryside and personable market towns to vibrant city living, Leicestershire offers a distinctive and high quality of life that will suit all lifestyles

Leicestershire is a beautiful county at the heart of England, within the developing National Forest.  It is a county where you can discover completely unspoilt villages and market towns, open countryside and panoramic views with rocky summits and secluded valleys.

Leicestershire has a wide variety of attractions including Bosworth Battlefield, where the course of English history changed dramatically, Snibston Discovery Park, which recalls our industrial past, and the National Space Centre.

Loughborough, in the north of the County is at the forefront of Information Technology and Loughborough University is also the national headquarters for many sports in the UK.  A number of Olympic teams will be training at Loughborough University in preparation for the 2012 Games in London, including, among others, the British Swimming Team, the British Triathlon Team, the elite British Athletes and the English Women’s Football Team.

The jet engine was invented in Lutterworth, in the south of the County, while Hinckley in the west was where the hosiery and footwear industries evolved.  Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in the north-west, and Market Harborough, in the south-east, are two very attractive, historical market towns.  Melton Mowbray, in the north-east, is a rural market town famous for the pork pie and for Stilton cheese.

Cosmopolitan and cultured, historic but futuristic, Leicester in the centre of the County is nothing if not varied, with its strong cultural diversity, excellent entertainment, night-life and restaurants.  The newly re-developed centre of the City offers a wide range of shopping opportunities, from the largest permanent outdoor market in Europe to the extensive Highcross shopping centre.

Leicestershire is well served by many transportation networks.  Four motorways (M1, M69, M42 and M6) run through the County, and there are regular trains to London, Nottingham, Birmingham and the North.  For international travel East Midlands Airport is located in the north of the County, and Birmingham Airport is also easily accessible
