Eteach was formed in the belief that recruiting excellent teachers for schools and their students will result in improved learning, more time for leaders to lead, and happier schools.
Our new partnership with 2B Enterprising means getting out from behind the computer and into the classroom to help teach primary-age children a bit about the world of business.
It is a fabulous initiative, funded by the businesses involved and therefore completely free to schools!
2B Enterprising provide all the amazing teaching materials and connect businesses with primary schools across the UK, giving pupils free access to activities that cover a variety of learning areas within the curriculum and empowering children with key skills for their future.
The learning materials match up to the mandatory entrepreneurship curriculum in Wales and Scotland and support PSHE curriculum in England through transferable skills and careers education.
For example, one activity session included children making their own business cards, helping them to improve presentation and speaking skills.
The sessions we were involved in were so well received by all the students. We had so much fun too! It would be great to see more businesses supporting their local schools, but even more importantly, schools taking up the offer from 2B Enterprising.
Here's a bit more about Eteach’s experience with 2B Enterprising so far:
Introducing The Bumbles of Honeywood
We’re always excited to support the sector, so when the opportunity came up to help local primary schools, we were all ears. It’s great to be able do our bit to inspire the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs whilst also building stronger relationships with our schools and community.
The first activity sessions were held at the Cheam Park Farm and Brookfield Primary Academy, part of the LEO Academy Trust. The sessions focused on networking: teaching young people how to introduce themselves to new people, be confident, strong, kind and brave. The materials are great and really do help the children embrace the activities and provide some great follow up content for additional sessions. On the day Rhys covered:
Entrepreneurial Mindset
By introducing children to the principles of business, we empower them to think creatively, solve problems, and seize opportunities. Encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age fosters resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace innovation.
Communication Skills
Networking is the lifeblood of professional success. By teaching children effective communication skills, such as active listening, articulation, and relationship-building, we enable them to express their ideas, collaborate with others, and forge meaningful connections that can last a lifetime.
Confidence and Self-Empowerment
Business and networking skills empower children to believe in themselves and their abilities. By fostering confidence, they develop the courage to pursue their passions, take calculated risks, and overcome obstacles along the way.
A Brookfields Primary Academy Year 1 teacher commented after the session:
“The children were really engaged and enjoyed the activity session - for a Friday afternoon it was very impressive! Not one child sought reassurance from me.”
Jayne Brewer, CEO of 2B Enterprising who led the activity sessions commented:
“We’re delighted that several primary schools from the LEO Academy Trust have joined our Bumbles community!
We love working with schools who recognise the importance of broadening horizons, inspiring young people with career opportunities from an early age and involving their business community. We are teaching young people the importance of communication, problem solving, teamwork and leadership – all key in both work and life.
The pupils from both Cheam Park Farm and Brookfield Primary embarked on the first sessions with enthusiasm – clearly excited to embrace a new challenge and welcome a local businessperson to their school.”
Rhys Howells, Managing Director of Eteach Group said:
“As a passionate advocate for nurturing young minds, I firmly believe that equipping children with essential business and networking skills is crucial for their future success.”
