What's new to Eteach in June 2020?
This month we have rolled out some exciting improvements including a new virtual meeting functionality that will be especially useful to international schools and UK schools practicing social distancing. Find out about everything that affects your school or group by reading on!
Promote improvements
Do you have hard-to-fill role that you want to promote further? We’ve now made some changes to our single enhancements, allowing you to add multiple enhancements to any one vacancy. What’s more, we’ve put the power fully in your hands, letting you manage exactly when the vacancy will benefit from the additional exposure.

Email templates improvements
What’s the number one complaint we hear from candidates?
It’s that they don’t hear back from the recruiter who posted the vacancy.
We’re here to help alleviate issues on both the candidate and school side, and that’s why we’re constantly improving the email templates available to you. We’ve added some new templates to your Client Portal, including an online interview template that will be particularly useful to you in this current time. We’ve also made some tweaks to the existing templates to keep in line with what we feel is best practice across the education industry.

Skype video call option against candidates
We know schools are getting to grips with interviewing remotely. That’s why we’ve made it even easier to contact a candidate who has given us their Skype details. When you click into a candidate’s details (via their application, inside a Talent Pool or on the Candidate tab for Premium customers), if they have added their Skype details to their account you will have an additional action to “Skype video call” the candidate.
What’s more, we’re actively asking candidates who are job hunting right now to add or update their Skype details, so you should see the Skype video call option appearing on more candidate profiles over the next few weeks.
Online application improvements
Proven to be our candidates’ favoured application method, we’re constantly evolving the functionality behind our online application form. This month we’ve made some improvements behind-the-scenes.
Eagle-eyed customers may notice that we now ask candidates their reason for leaving past employers (this question was previously only asked on the most recent employer given in the Employment History section).
Vacancy sorting improvements
Sometimes it can be hard to manage your individual vacancies effectively, particularly if you have a big recruitment need or are part of a large institution or group. That’s why we’ve made improvements to the Vacancy area of the Client Portal; you will find that you now have a much greater range of criteria to sort your vacancies within a vacancy list.
Could this be useful to you? Give it a try here!
Job search improvements
We’re not just making improvements on the Client Portal; this month we’ve been working hard on our job board’s search functionality. More specifically, we’ve increased the speed of the auto-complete drop-down options when a candidate starts to type a job search into the search box.
This makes the candidate’s job search process even more seamless, encouraging candidates to run more job searches. As a result, you can expect a higher number of relevant candidates to see your vacancies.
Coming up
Our development team are in the process of making some big changes to the Client Portal that will be available in early July, including the ability to schedule online meetings as well as improvements to our accessibility for users with disabilities.
