STEM Learning
STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education is becoming increasingly more important in the modern world. Many jobs require employees to have a strong understanding of STEM concepts, and STEM education can also benefit those going into other careers, with effective problem-solving and project management skills developing from studying these subjects.
Eteach has partnered with STEM Learning to support teachers to deliver outstanding STEM education for every student. We are dedicated to improving young people’s lives through the power of STEM and believe great STEM education builds knowledge and skills that are vital for everyone.
Professional Development
STEM Learning offers professional development for teachers in STEM subjects, both in-person and online. Science training will enable teachers to develop a secure understanding of the science concepts within the curriculum, as well as knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies appropriate for delivering science. Computing courses (in association with National Centre for Computing Education) cover Key Stages 1 to 4 and cater for all abilities and knowledge levels.
STEM Ambassadors
STEM Ambassadors are professionals with STEM backgrounds who offer their time, passion, and energy to visit schools, colleges, and youth group organisations to deliver requests from teachers and youth group leaders who want to link STEM subjects to the real world of work. Schools can request a visit from a STEM Ambassador to deliver career talks to students and ignite a passion for STEM subjects.
STEM Community
The STEM Community for educators is a community of over 20,000 teachers, technicians, teaching assistants and governors, all involved in the STEM education of young people. This is a place of support and collaboration – you will discover podcasts, blogs, discussion boards and access to STEM events around the country.
Resources
The STEM Learning website is home to thousands of free-to-access, quality-assured resources to support the teaching and learning of STEM subjects. From primary to post-16 lesson ideas, resources for technicians, and activities for extra-curricular clubs, there is everything you need to inspire the next generation of STEM enthusiasts.
