The Avenue Road Board Infant School was first opened in 1894. Within five years an adjacent school was built which became Avenue Junior School after 1944. Most recently in the history of the School, the Infant and Junior Schools joined together in 2006 to form a single Primary school. Since amalgamation the School has gone from strength to strength and has managed to stay welcoming and personal.
