Our school has a unique place at the heart of a supportive village community. As a school we strive not only to educate pupils to their full potential but also to impart a sense of Christian values and a love of God. Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with the promise by Jesus of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart. Our vision embraces the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development of all our learners.

The vision for our school is to be a community of faith where we believe, achieve and grow together. We aim to embed through an ethos of nurture core Christian values of hope, peace and koinonia. We work together in partnership to achieve our full potential academically, artistically, musically and through sport. We live together to grow in our understanding of each other. We pray together to create a community of faith.

Everyone at Barwick-in-Elmet Church of England Primary School is called and committed to their role in educating the children of the future. We recognise that the time children spend with us is precious therefore we see it as our mission to inspire a love of learning. As headteacher, I am privileged to work alongside extremely dedicated staff who strive to equip every child with exciting, challenging and memorable educational experiences during their time with us. As a school we plan an exciting curriculum, one which aspires to challenge our learners through inspirational teaching whilst also creating life long memories. We work with some unusual visitors from other planets to make sure we effectively use a wide range of learning skills – if you want to find out more you are welcome to visit us!

The vision for our school is to be a community of faith where we believe, achieve and grow together. We aim to embed through an ethos of nurture core Christian values of hope, peace and koinonia.

There are four basic elements which permeate our vision for education; wisdom, hope, community and dignity.

At Barwick-in-Elmet Church of England Primary School we aim

  • to instil spiritual awareness and a Christian faith that will guide our children in a society of diverse faith, belief and culture
  • to be recognised as an ‘outstanding’ learning community where learners achieve high standards and reach their full potential in all areas of learning
  • to provide a happy, healthy and secure sustainable learning environment, one which inspires an excitement for learning and an enthusiasm for life
  • to work in partnership with our community to safeguard our unique local heritage
  • to secure an open and welcoming partnership between school, home and the community which values, celebrates and embraces diversity and individuality.
