Overview

When we asked a group of Chorlton Park pupils how they would describe their school, the words that came up time and time again were ‘happy’, ‘friendly’, ‘fun’, ‘big’, ‘welcoming’, and ‘ecofriendly’. You won’t get a better picture than that from league tables or Ofsted reports - although our schools do very well in those too!

We have high academic expectations and making sure that all our children reach their potential is key to everything we do. Our schools are built on the belief that it is happy and secure children that achieve the most.

What’s different about the schools within the CLIC Trust is that our children are at the centre of everything we do and we never lose sight of this. The best way to get to know our schools is to come in and soak up their atmosphere.

We want all our children to have a rewarding and enriching experience with us, and to leave us equipped to succeed and thrive in whatever they wish to do.

We are proud that Chorlton Park Primary School became a Teaching School in 2013. In the words of the Department for Education:  "Teaching schools give outstanding schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support."

Vision and values

At Chorlton Park Primary School we aim to provide a happy, stimulating and secure community for every child. This, in conjunction with a rich and challenging learning experience, will ensure that all children reach their full potential, both emotionally and physically, and are completely prepared to take their place in our diverse world.

Everyone who works in our school is valued as an individual and staff work as a team, sharing expertise, knowledge and skills. Chorlton Park strongly values the partnership between home, school and community.

Our Vision

Changing Lives in Collaboration – together we make the difference.

At Chorlton Park we empower our children to achieve excellence in all that they do; preparing them to be the best that they can be.

Our Values

Respect: We respect ourselves, one another and our environment

Responsibility: We take responsibility for ourselves, one another and our learning. Our every action and interaction builds a secure and united community. We are true to ourselves and offer strength to others.

Resilience: We embrace challenge, recognising that through our mistakes, true learning happens. We take risks, always willing to have a go…..never wanting to miss out on opportunities to improve. We don’t give up.

Kindness: We show kindness to all that we meet, in the way that we treat people, in our class, school locally and globally.

Fairness: We are fair in all that we do, listen carefully and act with integrity.

Empathy: We are empathetic to all we come into contact with, through our learning about others and the world, and to experiences and opportunities presented to us. We embrace new experiences and do everything we can to ensure that we are leaders of our own learning.

Who are CLIC?

Some academies are sponsored or supported by an educational Trust who had no prior connection to the school. Our Trust, CLIC, has evolved out of our school communities and is currently led by Sally Lamb, the Interim Executive Principal. Mrs Lamb is held to account by the Board of Directors (who oversee finance and academic performance) most of which are existing school governors.

Each school has a local governing body, with representatives from the parent body, staff and the local community, including councillors. They work with Headteachers and pay close attention to the way in which the schools deliver the broad curriculum (not just Maths and English) and support the wellbeing of the children and staff.

Future Plans

One of the aims of the Trust is to work in collaboration with other schools in Greater Manchester and partners who have an interest in helping our children to achieve academic success and good, all-round development. For the past two years, our schools have worked with Dane Bank Primary School in Tameside which has seen great benefits from sharing expertise. Dane Bank officially joiend the CLIC Trust in November 2019.
