Overview

We are very proud of our rich Catholic faith, our history and our Welsh heritage and we are extremely proud to serve the Archdiocese of Cardiff.

Corpus Christi is a very successful, over-subscribed school, offering a broad and balanced curriculum with Religious Education at the centre. It is a thriving community in which we are well supported by our parents, parishes and partner primary schools. The Corpus Christi Pupil Profile, based on the Jesuit Pupil Profile, is at the heart of who we are and who we are striving to be as individuals and as a community.

Along with an excellent academic record, we also have an impressive sports track record. The school has a thriving Music and Drama department and the school production, along with the Christmas and Easter Liturgies, are highlights of the school calendar. The extra-curricular opportunities provided for our young people is broad indeed. Alongside sport and Performing Arts, it also encompasses the Humanities, MFL, ICT, Technology, Welsh, English, Maths, Science and Art.

Pupils have opportunities to join the many clubs which are on offer, at lunchtimes and after school. There are a raft of trips organised throughout the year, both in the UK and abroad. The Additional Learning provision and the Pastoral care support are second to none.

Our aim is to educate the whole child; physically, spiritually, emotionally and academically. We want all our young people to leave Corpus Christi as well-rounded individuals who are independent learners and thinkers, ready to take their places in the wider world as responsible young adults.

I do hope you enjoy looking at our website which, I am sure, will give you a fuller flavour of our school.

About Us

Corpus Christi is a co-educational 11-16 Catholic comprehensive school which serves the Catholic community in the north of Cardiff. The school currently has 1059 pupils on roll and it is continually over-subscribed. We have six designated partner Catholic primary schools. Corpus Christi is one of three Catholic secondary schools in Cardiff which fed St David's Catholic Sixth Form College. The school's catchment area is wide and, therefore, comprehensive. The number of children receiving free school meals is currently 13.4%. The school is set in extensive grounds which provide a pleasant and modern educational environment. All classrooms are equipped with interactive technology so that the learning during lessons can be of the highest quality. The provision for children with additional needs is extensive. The school was inspected in February 2015 and we were awarded ‘Good’ in all areas. In the Section 50 Inspection by the Archdiocese, we were awarded ‘Excellent’ in all areas. The Inspection Reports can be viewed on our school website www.corpuschristihs.co.uk 2016 PERFORMANCE Results at KS3 and KS4 are well above local and national norms.
