Welcome

Dane Bank is a fantastic place for children to learn and develop into happy, successful young people. Our children are happy, extremely well-behaved learners and we are invariably praised for this by visitors to the school. They are kind, caring and supportive of each other.

I am proud to be part of a team of staff who are committed and dedicated to encouraging the children to achieve their personal potential and encourage development of their individual talents.

About Us

 Our statement of purpose is:

“Enjoy and Achieve Together”

The achievement refers to attainment in academic, physical, social and emotional development, including children’s well-being. It is essential that school and home work together to develop all of these aspects of your child’s education.

School will provide high quality teaching and assessment, a broad and balanced curriculum and a stimulating, well resourced and well structured, caring and safe environment within which your children can thrive and achieve. We hope that you will support your children by ensuring that they complete their homework, go to bed at a reasonable time, have breakfast before they come to school and that you attend Parents’ Evenings and any other parent meetings when necessary and also support the social and fund raising events that our Friends of Dane Bank Association organise.

We believe that if children enjoy their education they will achieve more and so we will ensure that there is a wide range of enjoyable and interesting activities with which your children can engage.

Our Principles Are:

  • Good communication makes our school community stronger.
  • Being happy helps everyone succeed.
  • Everyone is valued.
  • A positive attitude leads to positive actions.
  • Working together makes a change for the better.

Who are CLIC?

Some academies are sponsored or supported by an educational Trust who had no prior connection to the school. Our Trust, CLIC, has evolved out of our school communities and is currently led by Sally Lamb, the Interim Executive Principal. Mrs Lamb is held to account by the Board of Directors (who oversee finance and academic performance) most of which are existing school governors.

Each school has a local governing body, with representatives from the parent body, staff and the local community, including councillors. They work with Headteachers and pay close attention to the way in which the schools deliver the broad curriculum (not just Maths and English) and support the wellbeing of the children and staff.

Future Plans

One of the aims of the Trust is to work in collaboration with other schools in Greater Manchester and partners who have an interest in helping our children to achieve academic success and good, all-round development. For the past two years, our schools have worked with Dane Bank Primary School in Tameside which has seen great benefits from sharing expertise. Dane Bank officially joined the CLIC Trust in November 2019.
