Overview

At Edward Pauling Primary School, we believe that children thrive in an environment in which they are happy, challenged and secure.

We aim to provide the best primary education in a stimulating and creative environment, so that every child realises his or her potential. We will instil a love of learning inspired by quality teaching, nurturing and developing individual strengths and talents. We will encourage and celebrate creativity, critical thinking and imagination as well as effort and achievement. We will teach the importance of moral values and consideration of others.

Our children, when they leave us at the end of Year 6 will be confident, collaborative and independent young people ready to succeed and enjoy the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead of them.

Our Aims

Our vision is to ensure that we embed Excellence in our Outstanding School !

Here is a copy of our ‘Aspire’ priorities plan. We are all working to ensure that children have fun, enjoy learning and achieve good results

Strategic Priorities 2017-18

TARGET 1. Achievement of Pupils [attainment] By July 2018:

• EYFS 90% of pupils attain GLD and at least 20% exceed in R,W,N,SSM

• Year 2 at least 90% of pupils achieve the expected standard or above in reading,

writing, grammar and mathematics.

• Year 6 at least 90% of pupils achieve the expected standard or above in reading,

writing, grammar and mathematics.

TARGET 2. Quality of Teaching: Ensure that the quality of teaching is never less

than outstanding in all phases and therefore generates high levels of commitment

to learning across the school.

TARGET 3. Progress of Pupils: Identify and provide for the learning needs of all

pupils so that they make sustained and substantial progress across the curriculum –

close remaining PPG gaps.

TARGET 4. Behaviour and Safety: Ensure that the level of attendance remains above

97% and reduce lateness. Maintain excellent standards of behaviour so that all

pupils value and respect themselves and others.

TARGET 5 – Curriculum: To ensure that all groups of pupils consolidate and deepen

their knowledge, understanding and skills across subjects through a cohesively

planned and engaging curriculum (continue to develop middle leadership as a means

to drive this).
