Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Eldene School - an inclusive 2-form entry nursery and primary school in south-east Swindon. Our school community is made up of classes from Reception to Year 6 and a nursery class for 3 and 4 year olds. One of our junior classes is a ‘Special Resourced Provision’.

We have large, spacious indoor teaching areas and huge, fantastic outside spaces. However, our biggest asset is our amazing children, whose achievements make us proud every day!

One pupil, whose opinion reflected that of many, said, “School is my favourite time of the day. I get to learn new things.” (Ofsted, March 2022)

Our enthusiastic team of staff, volunteers and governors work together in everything we do, playing our part in ensuring that the children in our care fulfil their potential and enjoy success. We have developed an exciting and engaging curriculum which meets our children’s needs - for those who find learning difficult, as well as those with special gifts or talents. However, we know that nurturing happy and hard-working children is something that we cannot do alone, and value the partnership we share between home and school.

‘Leaders, including governors, know the school well. They monitor the school curriculum regularly and use what they find to make further improvements.’ (Ofsted, March 2022)

Our school is warm and welcoming, with a calm and positive atmosphere. We provide excellent care, guidance and support for our pupils.

'Pupils are extremely polite, respectful and friendly. (Ofsted, March 2022)'

Visitors often comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere at Eldene and the positive attitude of the children, parents and staff. If you are interested in finding out more about our school first hand, please contact us to make an appointment and I’d be very pleased to show you around.

Vision and Values

Work together, learn together, succeed together

Vision and Values

Our core values are:

• I will show care and respect
• I will include everyone
• I will persevere
• I will challenge myself
• I will grasp opportunity

At Eldene, our highest priority is to make sure that we work together to ensure the children in our care have the information and skills they need to help them succeed at learning and make good progress. We want children to leave our school able to read, write and understand maths, but there is far more to it than that.

So, we have created a ‘vision’ for our school - our hopes and aims for everyone in our school community.

We started with the ‘core values’ which we want to see in action, every day, by everybody in our school and finished up with our ‘vision’.

Work together, learn together, succeed together
