Overview

School’s Ethos and Values Statement Hagley Catholic High School’s motto is "Semper Fidelis," meaning always faithful. This school’s mission is to educate pupils in a Catholic environment where they can grow in faith, knowledge and understanding to serve as a witness to the Catholic faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Guided by these principles our Mission Statement: To make our school a safe refuge - In our Father’s hands To love God and our neighbour - As Christ loves us To be guided in our work and play - By the power of the Holy Spirit As a Catholic school we seek: To place the worship of God and prayer at the centre of school life through Mass, assemblies and other liturgies; o To instil respect for, understanding of, and discernment for, other cultures, religious beliefs and customs and promote equal opportunities for all; o To emphasise the need for stewardship and good citizenship and its importance in contributing to the common good; o To deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum, taking into account the ability and needs of each person to fit them for life-long learning and enable them to develop their full potential value and sense of self-worth; o To encourage the personal and professional development of all staff. Our values are reflected in our school prayer to our Patron Saint, St Nicholas Owen. St Nicholas Owen: make this school a safe refuge; Inspire in us a love of God and a love of our neighbour; Guide us in our work and play that we may always be faithful to Christ, our Lord. Amen

We are part of Emmaus Catholic Multi Academy Company who are a family of schools united in Christ and working as one, to provide the very best Catholic education, faith formation and personal growth, rooted in Gospel values.

Today, there are 10 schools in our family, one secondary, nine primary schools, including a Teaching School, spanning the Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell and Worcestershire Local Authorities.  We have over 3000 children, over 400 staff and over 100 Directors and Local Governors.

Our Aim: To provide an education through which pupils can acquire life skills, attitudes and values which will prepare them to become free, responsible and active members of society, making the Church’s mission present to all by the example of their lives; To create a community which promotes tolerance, respect and sensitivity to the needs of others so that pupils realise their duties and responsibilities to their neighbour as well as their personal rights and freedoms; In summary our school aims to be a school to which children wish to come, to which parents wish to send their children and where teachers wish to teach.
