Thank you for your interest in working at Horsforth Newlaithes Primary School.

Newlaithes is a warm, ambitious and inclusive school where children are at the heart of every decision we make. Our vision is for every child to belong, believe and become: to feel that they are known and valued, to believe in themselves and their future, and to become the very best version of themselves.

We are proud of our school community and excited about the next stage of our journey. We are building a culture where excellence is a habit, where high standards are matched with joy, kindness and care, and where the magic of childhood is protected and celebrated.

We welcome applications from people who share our commitment to helping children thrive, both personally and academically. Whether you are starting your career, looking for your next challenge, or bringing significant experience, we are interested in people who are reflective, hardworking, inclusive and ambitious for all children.

If you are excited by the opportunity to contribute to a school that is growing, improving and thinking deeply about what children need to succeed, we would be delighted to hear from you.

About us

G71QUMiXQAAI-yn.jpeg

Horsforth Newlaithes Primary School is a large, welcoming primary school serving the community of Horsforth, in north-west Leeds. Since opening in 1973, our school has been an important part of the local area, supporting generations of children and families.

Our vision is for every child to belong, believe and become. We want children to feel known, valued and included; to believe in themselves and their future; and to become the very best version of themselves.

We are proud to be a warm and inclusive school with high ambitions for every child. Relationships matter deeply here, but so do standards. We believe children deserve classrooms where learning is clear, purposeful and ambitious; where behaviour is calm and respectful; and where childhood is full of joy, curiosity, creativity and wonder.

Our school has extensive grounds, including a large forest area which provides rich opportunities for outdoor learning, Forest School and wider personal development. Reading is at the heart of our work, and we are committed to ensuring that every child becomes a confident, fluent reader who can access the full richness of the curriculum.

Newlaithes is entering an exciting stage of development. We are investing in curriculum, teaching, provision and professional development across school, with a particular focus on strengthening early education, adaptive teaching and high-quality learning for all pupils.

We are looking for people who share our belief that children should thrive both personally and academically. Staff who join Newlaithes become part of a committed, caring and ambitious team working together to build something exceptional for our children and community.

Working at Horsforth Newlaithes means joining a school with warmth, ambition and a strong sense of purpose.

We want our staff to feel that they belong here too. We know that excellent schools are built by people who feel valued, supported and able to keep growing. That is why we are committed to creating a professional culture where staff work together, learn together and take pride in the difference they make every day.

We are looking for people who are ambitious for children, reflective about their practice and excited by the opportunity to contribute to our next stage of development. At Newlaithes, high standards matter, but so do kindness, humour, teamwork and joy.

Staff who join us can expect:

a warm, inclusive and welcoming school community;

children who deserve the very best and make the work deeply worthwhile;

a clear vision rooted in helping every child belong, believe and become;

a commitment to high-quality professional development;

opportunities to contribute to curriculum, teaching, provision and wider school improvement;

supportive colleagues who care about doing the job well;

access to staff wellbeing and employee benefits, including the School Advisory Service and Vivup.

We are proud of our school, but we are not standing still. We are building a culture where excellence becomes a habit, where strong professional practice is developed together, and where children’s academic success sits alongside the joy, creativity and magic of childhood.

If that sounds like the kind of school you want to help shape, we would be delighted to hear from you.
