Humberstone Infant School is at an exciting stage in its development, having recently converted to academy status in April and an ongoing program of refurbishment. The school is now part of Odyssey Educational Trust in partnership with the founding trust school, Humberstone Junior Academy.

Humberstone Infant School is a place where success is expected, achieved and celebrated. We foster a love of learning,respect and care for others. We encourage our children to be the best that they can be in sport, art, music and drama as well as English, Mathematics and the other subjects we study. 

Humberstone Infant School has a caring ethos where every member of our school is respected, valued and enabled to reach his or her potential. We work in partnership with parents - the school is an important part of the community, and the community is an important part of our school.  

Our Philosophy

In the Foundation Stage children learn best through play based activities and first hand experience. Every child deserves the best possible start in life, in our Foundation Stage we aim to give this by looking at what the children can do and supporting them to fulfill their potential. Children become independent learners through the provision of a balance of child initiated and adult led/directed experiences.

We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which will enable each child to develop emotionally, socially, physically, creatively, and intellectually to their full potential and at their own pace.
