Overview

As you can see from the photograph we have a charming building, built in 1906, and our children also enjoy a newly built classroom block overlooking our large sports field adjacent to St Denys Infant School. Mr Lewin, Head Teacher, leads our staff of eleven teachers and ten Learning Support Assistants for our eight classes.  We have an active Parent Teacher Association and Governor Body dedicated to enriching school life. We welcome new members to both bodies as vacancies arise.

About Us

Our aim is for Ibstock Junior School to be welcoming for children, their parents or carers, our staff, governors and visitors. At school, all of our children should feel happy and secure and have the opportunity to work in a stimulating learning environment. If we can achieve that for them, then we believe that they will be receptive and thus be able to make the most of their education experience. As members of the school community they will be able to grow in self-esteem and develop their potential as individuals.

We expect good work habits and the best possible behaviour. The simple rules we insist on are aimed to help each and every child understand the value that you as parents and we as teachers and governors place on: kindness good manners caring for others respect for other people and their property

We do not tolerate: any disruptive or aggressive behaviour racial abuse bullying – physical or verbal

Racial and sexist attitudes are formed during a child’s early years. We promote positive attitudes towards others and respect for the richness of all cultures.
