Overview

Above all else, we are a caring and inclusive school, working hard to ensure every learner achieves their potential in all areas.

We have high aspirations and are committed to the well being of every child in the school. We believe that every child has the right to work in a safe and secure environment where they are given a range of opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. We offer an exciting learning environment which enables the children to learn about the world around them through first-hand experience.

Through working together, we aim to create a strong community where mutual respect is fostered for all members. We have high expectations of our pupils in all aspects of school life, including behaviour. We believe that parents, and the community, are vital partners in this process and we welcome input from all members of our community.

Working together we aim to:

  • encourage in children a positive attitude towards learning;
  • stimulate children to develop lively, enquiring minds, to be able to approach tasks with careful thought and perseverance, and to make reasoned judgments and choices;
  • develop ability and encourage active participation in a range of sporting activities;
  • inspire children to develop self-respect, self-discipline and personal achievement, whilst encouraging courtesy, co-operation and respect for others.

At Kegworth Primary School, we aim to promote an open school in which liaison is an important feature. We are committed to being part of the local community and to this end parental and community involvement is actively encouraged. Kegworth Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

“The school provides a good standard of education for all its pupils ..pupils make good progress from the outset. The standards they reach .. are above what is expected nationally.” Ofsted November 2011
