Lainesmead Nursery and Primary School is a two form entry school with children from 3-11 years of age, situated in Old Walcot. Our children come from a diverse background and this is something we are especially proud of. As a school, we celebrate all that makes us unique as well as all the binds us together as a worldwide community.
Lainesmead is a very special place to go to school. We know this because the children themselves tell us each and every day. In fact, in their own words, it is “Like a big family!” and “Everyone is kind, friendly and supportive.” It is a busy, happy school with an atmosphere that enables the children to be the best they can be. Our new vision statement supports this further, where we as a school, work for all to strive, achieve, excel: believe in a limitless future! In our recent Ofsted, it was noted, “Relationships between adults and pupils are respectful and caring.” Parents summed up the views of a number…”The school does an excellent job of educating my children, whilst also ensuring that their wellbeing and safety are paramount.”
We work closely with families and the local community to develop the ethos within the school. We want all children to make a valuable contribution to the life of the school, be it as a ‘Play Leader,’ ‘Prefect,’ ‘Head Boy or Girl’ or any other number of ways the children are given responsibilities across the school.
