Now located in our vibrant new building in Merstham, we have children on role from Nursery to Year 4. At Lime Tree Primary School we have high expectations of all children, staff and parents. Local Area


Merstham is a largely residential village in four sections in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey, England. It is North of Redhill and intersected by the M23 and M25 motorways and is on the edge of the North Downs. Part of the North Downs Way runs along the northern boundary of the village.

Local Attractions

Merstham has community associations, an early medieval church, a football club and an art gallery.  The Belfry Shopping Centre, housing a large variety of major stores, is approximately a mile and a half away.

Recreational Activities

Donyings Leisure Centre with a gym, pool, sports hall and squash courts is less than two miles away.

Transport Links

The village is served by Merstham railway station on the Brighton Main Line, with services to London Bridge, London Victoria, Gatwick Airport. London buses run to Croydon, Coulsdon, Purley and Redhill town centre.  Metrobus operates buses to Reigate, Caterham and Woldingham.

Headteacher's Welcome

Thank you for expressing an interest in Lime Tree Primary School, the first primary academy in Reigate and Redhill.

We are a brand new two form entry primary school which opened in September 2013. Due to the exceptional demand for places across the area we have an additional class in Year 2 and Year 3. Each year the school will increase its age range, adding an additional year group until it is an all through primary school in 2019.

As a new school we embrace challenge and aim to 'Learn Together to Achieve Success'. This is embedded in our Mission Statement and Values;

Children at Lime Tree celebrate every success on their journey to becoming life long learners.

As adults we provide the opportunities for risk taking and help remove barriers to learning so that every child is challenged and can achieve,

We provide a seafe and secure environment to encourage learning through mistakes and put creativity at the heart of teaching and learning. 

We ensure that learning us vivid and real, use challenging questioning and effective AfL to maximise progress.

We have high expectations of every child and make sure every second counts!

Working in partnership with Parents and or Carers is key to successful learning. We actively encourage parents and carers to be involved with their children's learning as well as promoting parental involvement in all aspects of school life.
