Mellers is a City Primary Co-educational Day School with Foundation Unit for pupils aged from 3-11 years. We have a 30 place Foundation Unit with full-time and part-time places. Throughout the school the children are grouped according to age and so classes contain children of mixed ability.

Mellers Primary School is a member of the Transform Trust and Teaching School Alliance

Transform will provide a school improvement structure. This will be a responsive and proactive service.

Schools supported by Transform will have access to education expertise, support and experience from across the growing Teaching School Alliance.

Within the Alliance is a core school improvement capability of 5 National Leaders of Education, 9 Local Leaders of Education, 2 National Leaders of Governance, 18 Specialist Leaders of Education, as well as 24 ITP/OTP facilitators and 5 Ofsted trained inspectors (AI).

Staff will be able to access a significant range of opportunities and professional development programmes. The Alliance is continuously developing capacity to accelerate school improvement and enable high quality learning and teaching. This will include:

·         Middle and Senior Leaders Development Programme

·         Bespoke Leadership courses

·         Bespoke Coaching programmes

·         Developing SEN practice

Transform Teaching School Alliance was approved by the Department of Education in March 2012, followed by the Academy Sponsor role in early 2013.
