Overview

At Montrose we aim to create a caring, happy and friendly atmosphere which will nurture the children to their maximum potential in all areas of their growth and development. We invite you to look around, sample the atmosphere and perhaps think about enrolling your next generation into our school where they can begin their education as early as the age of three.

Local children have been educated at Montrose for six decades and since its opening in 1946 the school has developed in size and character. The original school was housed in a Civil Defence establishment as Gateway Girls Grammar School. In 1954 this was changed to Montrose Junior School and in 1975 the Infant Department was added. Finally in 1988 a new school was built on the existing grounds and the crumbling old building demolished.
