Overview

At the Nottingham Academy we want our children to be happy, confident individuals with a passion for learning. We believe every child should feel valued and encouraged to achieve their very best in all aspects of academy life.

Working together we aim to provide an excellent learning environment and a curriculum which is captivating and purposeful. We expect our children to feel safe, valued and treated in accordance with their individuality. Our aim is for our children to be secure, confident and to participate with a real intent to improve. The culture we develop, and our evolving curriculum will ensure that all children engage, participate and will be excited about their future possibilities.

This Academy is sponsored by the Greenwood Academies Trust which was formed in 2009 and now educates approximately 16,000 pupils across seven local authority areas including Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, Leicester City, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Central Bedfordshire.

Great learning...

  • Great learning is ongoing and responsive, it is a continual process.
  • Great learning is durable – it should last.
  • Great learning is flexible, learning should be applicable to different contexts.
  • Great learning involves making mistakes, it has the potential to lead to change.

Pension Scheme

Every employee is entitled to join either the teachers’ pension scheme or the local authority pension scheme, which are the some of the most secure, flexible and competitive pensions around. If you are employed by the Trust, regardless of being teaching or support staff, everyone is eligible to enrol.

Childcare Vouchers

Every employee is eligible for childcare vouchers for Busy Bees nurseries, to offset some of the costs of being a working parent. The cost of the vouchers is taken out of your wages before tax and national insurance, meaning that you can take more of your salary home at the end of the month!
