About Us

At Quarry Mount Primary School:

We believe in a genuine partnership between teachers, parents, carers, pupils and governors with the interests of the children as our central theme.

We want our pupils to feel valued, safe and happy, and our parents to be secure in the knowledge that their children’s needs are being met and their interests catered for.

The staff and governors are committed to providing a creative, stimulating learning environment in which children and adults alike can flourish and reach their full potential.

The school celebrates the uniqueness of every individual and what they have to offer including personality, perseverance, academic ability and talent. We especially celebrate the racial and cultural diversity of our members which so enriches our school.

We want all our pupils to experience success and to develop confidence through their achievements, and we aim to provide the opportunities that will facilitate this.

For pupils to be truly successful, they must also become increasingly independent and resourceful.

We aim to create a climate of positive evaluation where self improvement is highly desirable and natural.

Staff and pupils regularly set personal and academic targets which means that expectations remain consistently high and the highest standards are aimed for.

We think it is important that all pupils’ ideas are heard, and to do that we have a school council where members are chosen equally and fairly, through an election process. Our school council members reflect several ethnicities and cultures with an equal balance of girls and boys.

Our school rules help everyone to show respect and understand what is right and wrong. We know our actions have consequences for both the good and bad things we do. Our school rules help us to enjoy the good consequences.

Everyone at Quarry Mount enjoys celebrating diversity and successes; we show our respect of different cultures in our work and involve the community with our celebration days, which include ‘International Evening’ and ‘Human Rights Day’ as well as celebrating our successes at celebration assemblies.

Quarry Mount encourages independence, and promotes this through school council where pupils are encouraged to actively take part in making decisions on behalf of the school and its pupils. Staff also provide pupils with the skills they require to be independent both in and out of school; pupils are also encouraged to attend social events within the local community and have particularly enjoyed the lantern festival.
