Overview

We are a large Primary and Nursery School situated just off the ring road, Western Boulevard, approximately one mile from the City centre. We have 454 children on role in the school and nursery combined.  As a school we work hard to raise attainment and build on the successes of previous years. The building includes fifteen classrooms including Nursery and a computer suite. There is a main hall plus stage area and a dining hall. Children have the use of two playgrounds and a large grassed area that provides space for both play and sports activities.  The Nursery and Foundation Classes have their own dedicated enclosed play area.  The school has undergone re-organisation and in September 2012 became a larger school with our Nursery opening in February 2014. Classes in school are organised into Nursery, the Foundation 1 / Foundation 2, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We have morning and afternoon Nursery classes, 2 Reception classes, 4 Key Stage 1 classes and 8 Key Stage 2 classes.

About Us

We have an active and thriving Parent/Teacher Association, who organise a wide range of activities throughout the year. The annual Summer Fayre raises a substantial sum for extra equipment amongst other things and we also have a Bonfire Night party with Fireworks.  We have a good relationship with our local community, welcoming parents/carers and volunteers in to help. We are a highly multicultural, positive and friendly school where the children are well behaved and enjoy their learning.  We use assertive discipline positively.  Robert Shaw is a great place to work. This will be a good opportunity to work in a vibrant multicultural school.
