Overview

We are a small, rural primary school situated on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border with 107 children on roll. The school was originally built in 1847 and has had many extensions since then. We have three classrooms in the main school building and a large mobile classroom. We also have a Library - which doubles up as a classroom for the mornings, a computer suite, a kitchen and large outdoor area that has a garden for the children to grow their own produce and has lots of equipment to play with at lunchtimes and playtimes. We also have our Peace Garden - which is a garden area for quiet reflection. We actively encourage the children to learn outside and regularly use the surrounding wooded area as an extension to our grounds.

We are open daily from 7.30am until 6.00pm with very active Breakfast and After School Clubs run by school employed staff. However, due to COVID19, our provision is reduced at this time from 7.45am - 4.30pm. Our curriculum is exciting and creative and we work hard to ensure there is something for everyone. PE and sport play a big part of Sheepy life and we employ a Sport’s Coach to work with all the children throughout the week. We regularly take part in competitions and tournaments and have quite a few trophies to show for it!

We believe that at Sheepy children have an excellent educational start in a happy and relaxed atmosphere which allows them to develop into responsible and caring young people. We pride ourselves on the Christian ethos and values that fostered within school and each child has the responsibility of looking after each other. Our older children run lunchtime clubs for the younger children encouraging excellent behaviour, resilience and independence.

We believe that getting the primary phase of education right is vitally important and that it starts pupils' journeys to successful lives.

If you would like more information about our little school please do not hesitate to call us for an informal chat or to make an appointment to come and have a look around.

We will all look forward to meeting you.

About us

Here at Sheepy, we strive to… Educate each child within a happy, stimulating, caring Christian community that prepares them for life in modern Britain. Offer a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which will enable all children to fully develop their skills, talents and potential. Provide an atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance where all will be equally valued. Celebrate all that is good and beautiful and give thanks to God

Vision & Values

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. Through our values and dedication we seek to:

  • nurture children in a secure, creative learning environment with Christian values and well-being at its heart.
  • enable all to flourish in an atmosphere of warmth and trust where everyone feels valued and confident.
  • aim to grow together as a community while embracing difference and diversity.

At Sheepy Magna CE Primary, we actively promote British Values through our curriculum. These are: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Actively promoting the values means challenging opinions or behaviours in school that are contrary to fundamental British values.
