Spring Cottage is located near to Sutton, on the Spring Cottage Estate.

The school caters for children aged 3 to 11 years. Key Stage 1 and 2 are accommodated in two large buildings and our Foundation children are accommodated in our new exciting extension, the Foundation Stage Unit.

The school has approximately 460 children.

We are extremely proud of our school and the achievements of our pupils. Spring Cottage has a strong reputation for academic, artistic and sporting success. Our school was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in our last inspection in 2008, and since then, results have continued to improve, and our school has continued to develop. 

In 2014 the DfE and National College for Teaching & Leadership designated Spring Cottage as a National Teaching School and National Support School.

We converted to Academy status in February 2014 to enable the school to benefit from the autonomy to make our own decisions regarding curriculum and procurement. This decision was made in alliance with a group of eleven local schools, who together, now form the Innovative, Creative and Aspirational (ICA) Academy Partnership.

Spring Cottage aims to offer all of our children an excellent education that is full of challenge, interest and fun. In addition, each child is encouraged to build their self-confidence, to develop self-reliance, to take risks without fear of failure, and to make informed decisions about their own learning.

Horizon Academy Trust is a primary-only academy chain and accredited sponsor. The Trust was created to facilitate a strong working partnership between schools with a clear focus on achieving excellent standards for all of its pupils.
