Headteacher's Welcome

We are a close-knit community-based Church of England school where children are valued and helped to flourish and achieve their best. They are supported and nurtured to become confident and independent people who love to learn and enjoy a challenge!

All schools have their own distinctive 'feel' which makes them unique. We think the special feeling you get at St Barnabas comes from our nurturing, supportive and friendly environment, which is based on our distinctive Christian character and values.

St Barnabas is a happy and creative school, and the staff make it their mission to teach exciting, engaging and fun lessons that help children develop. I am proud to be part of such a wonderful school, and proud to work with such committed and passionate staff who want to provide the very best opportunities for the children in our care whilst looking after their well-being and making sure they achieve high standards in their learning. The staff make sure that what the children learn is exciting, interesting and engaging - they make sure children develop their skills and get a life-long love for learning.

To find out about our school we encourage you to come and visit. You can see everyone in action and meet the staff and children. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office to arrange this!

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our new children and families.

Vision and values

Our vision is founded on the Biblical scripture John 10:10, when Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness".

Our vision is for all children and adults in our community to flourish.

'Flourish' means to grow; to be the best you can be. Therefore, we aim for all children and adults to grow into the best they can be.

As a Church of England school, we learn about our five Christian values. These are:

Hope - never give up
Joy - have fun and celebrate
Justice - do the right thing
Respect - be kind to yourself, others and our world
Service - help others

Let's flourish together.
