St. Clare's is a co-educational, non-selective independent school for children aged 2½ - 18 years. Established in 1938, the Independent School in South Wales stands in its own magnificent grounds, in the picturesque village of Newton, near Porthcawl. The South Wales School has a strong sense of community and provides a first class education from Early Years to Sixth Form. Each child's talents and skills are nurtured by dedicated staff, enabling them all to achieve their full potential. St. Clare's is ideally placed in Porthcawl, near Bridgend, midway between the cities of Cardiff and Swansea with easy access to both the M4 and A48 and within striking distance of the celebrated Heritage Coast and the Vale of Glamorgan.

St. Clare’s has a strong and supportive pastoral structure ranging with Sixth Form mentors, Tutors, Teaching Assistants, Integration Managers, Heads of Key Stage to Deputy Head. At St. Clare’s we place great importance on our pupils’ Value Added performance.  On average every St. Clare’s pupil attains 0.9 of a grade higher per subject by the end of A-level compared to the national average for a child of their ability.  The vision is to exceed one grade Value Added.
