Overview

St Patrick's is a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary and Nursery School that values standards and achievement.

We have a special relationship with the Catholic Church of St Patrick's and St George's and our teaching is guided by the values of the Roman Catholic faith.

At our school we seek to help each individual child achieve excellence in all aspects of their life, academically, spiritually, morally and socially.

• It has 240 children on roll
• The school serves the parishes of St Patrick’s and St Georges
• 11% of pupils are eligible for free school meals
• 9.5% of pupils are on the special educational needs register

Aims
Within an ethos based firmly on the Gospel values, traditions and beliefs of the Catholic faith St Patrick’s aims to:

• Foster respect for religious and moral values and the rights and roles of individuals
• Provide broad and balanced curriculum ensuring that pupils will benefit from all the educational opportunities provided by the school
• Ensure the highest level of attainment for individual pupils through a system of rigorous target-setting and monitoring

Ethos and Behaviour
At St Patrick’s we encourage high standards in behaviour by:
• Expressing our faith and religious teachings of the Catholic Church
• Our Code of Conduct
• Our Reward System
The school offers consultancy, high quality support and advice on behaviour management and ethos.

Numeracy
We enable children to become competent and confident mathematicians allowing them to develop a real understanding of its relevance to everyday life. The Numeracy Co-ordinator offers support, particularly in the areas of planning and monitoring through consultancy and a programme of reciprocal visits.

Drama
Drama is used across the curriculum to enhance understanding and develop confidence. We are also very proud of our drama productions from the Nursery to the end of KS 2.
