About our academy

St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy was established in 1848. The academy moved to the present site in 1975. It is situated in the small town of Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, surrounded by attractive countryside and places of historic interest. St. Peter’s pupils come from Market Bosworth itself and a range of villages.

The Governors in a Church of England academy are responsible for the style and quality of education. Worship and ethos are Christian and in accordance with the foundation of the academy.

Children join the academy as Foundation Stage pupils at the start of the academic year in which they will be 5 years old. This is in accordance with the Leicestershire Admissions Policy, and is known as ‘4+ admission’. Children leave the academy at the end of Year 6. Currently there are around 253 children on roll.

Mission and Ethos

Mission

Recognising its historic foundation, St Peter’s CE Academy will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the church at parish and diocesan level.

The academy aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

Ethos

At St. Peter’s we are committed to inspiring, educating and developing children to become successful and lifelong learners, and secure in the Christian belief that each person is created in God’s image to be unique, special and equally valued.

St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy aims to provide high quality learning, teaching and community engagement for all its pupils, delivering a creative curriculum in a safe, caring and enabling environment where children are ‘happy to learn’. We will inspire all our children to be confident individuals that develop into successful learners who make a positive contribution, experiencing the distinctive Christian ethos and values through which they can learn to work hard and to care for others and their surroundings.
