The Burrow aims to:
- ‘Teach children to DO things and inspire them to BE something’
- give them the opportunity to encounter new and exciting challenges
- help them discover a sense of awe and wonder in their learning
- encourage them to value and care for the world around them
- enable them to reach their full potential, working in partnership with their parents and carers
- provide them, their parents and carers with experiences that promote equality and value diversity
- nurture them to work together to enhance life in the local community
So, whether it’s learning to put on their coats, eat their snack, paint a picture, dig a hole, look at beetles, stand in line, sing some songs, feed the rabbits (or ducks or chickens or stick insects!), construct a den, talk to an adult, go on a map-walk, cook an egg, write their name, ride a bike, cut a sandwich, wait their turn, climb a tree, use good manners, identify a bird, share their toy, compare wellie boot sizes, read a book, grow some carrots, wash their hands, count the cups, build a tower, dress a doll, know the days of the week, sift the sand, pour their drink, print a pattern, stomp in a puddle, chat over lunch, make a shell mobile, chop some fruit, buckle their shoe, toast a marshmallow, construct a rope swing, jump in a leaf pile, measure the capacity of a bucket, remember their birthday, say good morning, mix a mud pie, act out a well-known story, sit round a campfire, chalk on the patio, recite a favourite nursery rhyme… in fact everything that fills the exciting world of a child at The Burrow… the Team will always be:
‘Teaching to DO, Inspiring to BE’.
