Canterbury Campus is a KS3 and 4 Pupil Referral Unit that caters for secondary aged pupils who are permanently excluded, on respite from their home schools, Year 11 pupils without a school place and new arrivals into the borough.

It caters for both boys and girls.

Most students at Canterbury Campus have had difficulties in mainstream settings and will have been excluded or have been referred for a period of timed intervention, assessment and/or behavioural support and other types of intervention. After assessment, some students may require an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Many pupils have Social and Emotional difficulties and some have associated learning difficulties which are wide ranging in terms of severity.

We work closely with a range of professionals, with our own Safer Schools Officer on site twice a week, a Speech and Language therapist, Educational Psychologist and CAMHS worker.

Each student has an Individual Learning Plan that includes social development opportunities. Students are taught in small groups and take a wide range of GCSE subjects in Year 10 and Year 11. Our aim is for students to reintegrate into schools or at the end of Year 11 to move on to Sixth Forms or College.
