Overview

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. Whitegate School was built in the mid 1950’s to serve the newly developing Clifton Estate. It rapidly grew in size, and extra, temporary accommodation was required. In 1993, two classrooms were adapted to create a modern, 60 place Nursery unit. In April 1995, the Infant and Junior Schools were amalgamated to form a new Primary School.

In January 2002 we were pleased to open a new building, which includes a new classroom, a staff room and a head teacher’s office, which links all parts of the school together The very spacious grounds provide 3 play areas and extensive playing fields, plus a pond, sensory garden and wildlife area that are used for leisure and curriculum activities. We have enhanced the KS2 playground with the installation of a trim trail and KS1 now have a tyre challenge and Train. Both Foundation Units have outside play areas.
